Christopher/ Palamara/ Bolden exchange

Christopher/ Palamara/ Bolden exchange

From Bolden: The Movie (http://facebook.com/boldenthemovie)/ Cantara Christopher:

After being warned off by the Atchity people, it has now become my full intention to p#ss off these makers of The Kennedy Detail, the movie based on the book of the same name that libeled my friend Abe Bolden. Which is why I'm publishing this curious photo [here- on Facebook]. It shows director Stephen Gyllenhaal, producer Ken Atchity, Atchity's main squeeze and VP Chi Li Wong--AND the still-living members of that sorry Secret Service protective detail who, through their arrogance and incompetence, allowed President John F. Kennedy to be shot to death in Dallas that November day in 1963.

Vince Palamara:
Cantara: Lisa McCubbin, who told a colleague of mine it was "bad news" that my book is coming out this Fall, sent me an e-mail yesterday warning me to take down some images on my blog-sound familiar? ;)

Abraham Bolden:
Thank you Cantara: Now everyone can see how and why my book sales were sabotaged and some producers have backed out of movie deals based upon my book. I have faith that you can get it done. Fearless resolve is the key. The secret service is doing everything possible to restore its reputation with the coming of the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination. You can bet that anyone who expresses any opinion contrary to the conclusion of the Warren Commission that “Oswald did it” will be challenged by a massive covert government propaganda machine that controls the mass media.

ABE BOLDEN'S GREAT REVIEW OF THE KENNEDY DETAIL

I just finished reading former Secret Service Agent Blaine's 448-page cover-your-ass memoir, The Kennedy Detail. As a former agent myself and the first African-American to be appointed to the White House detail personally by President John F. Kennedy in 1961, I have been dismayed by the continual attempts by certain former agents of the United States Secret Service to deny culpability in the assassination of the President on November 22, 1963. The attack upon my credibility in Blaine's CYA account of that event was expected. Still, I was hoping that these former presidential bodyguards would show at least the barest measure of contrition instead of trying to blame the assassination on Kennedy himself. Unlike the vast majority of Americans, I was an agent during that critical period in 1963. My own book, The Echo from Dealey Plaza, is an autobiography which is supported by documented facts, unlike Blaine's book. In Echo I relate the questionable habits and attitudes of a number of my fellow agents while I served with them carrying out our sworn duties to protect the president: for examples their heavy drinking, their wild partying while on duty, their cavalierness and even contemptuousness toward their life-and-death responsibilities, their disrespect of Kennedy and his progressive policies. One agent even declared with chilling seriousness within my earshot that, were an attempt made on the life of President Kennedy, he would take no action. I also talk about the overt and persistent racism ingrained in the Secret Service of that era. Blaine dismisses my claims of discriminatory practices and racial baiting during my time with the agency as being unfounded. However, on page 25 in Echo I document by Secret Service file memo 3-11-602-111 the starkly racist policy that would have grossly hampered an agent of my color in carrying out his government-appointed duty to protect the president. Blaine also asserts that Agent Robert Faison, the first black Secret Service agent who was permanently assigned to the White House detail in 1963, took issue with what Blaine terms my unbelievable charges of racism. Curiously, in his book Blaine fails to mention him by name. If there was NO racism in the Secret Service even in the comparatively unenlightened year of 1963, how is it then that, a mere few years ago in 2000, 2002, and as recently as 2005, no fewer than 68 African-American agents filed a series of class-action civil lawsuits charging the United States Secret Service with "a decades-long pervasive atmosphere of racial harassment and retaliation against those who challenged the status quo"? Further in the book Blaine makes a minor but telling error. He states that I reported the conduct of my fellow agents to the head of White House Secret Service, James Rowley. I never did go to Rowley, as it was common knowledge that he was already aware of the shenanigans of his subordinates but did nothing to stop them. On page 45 of Echo, I specifically state that I went directly to Rowley's superior, the well-respected, no-nonsense Chief U.E. Baughman, who happened to be leaving his job in a few weeks. Baughman was appalled by what I had to say and promised to leave my report with his successor—who, as it turned out, was Rowley.
After Kennedy's assassination, Baughman was publicly critical of the actions or inactions of the Secret Service as he witnessed them from outside the agency. I myself was aware of coverups and obfuscations during my last months in the Secret Service. For example, as far it being a policy to forbid agents to ride on the running boards of the presidential vehicle (they were attached solely for the purpose of protecting the president), this ridiculous piece of disinformation wasn't circulated until AFTER the assassination. There was NO official memorandum or other notification of any such change in policy. Lastly, there is an even more serious accusation leveled at me by Blaine. In early November 1963 I was back in the Chicago office when the Secret Service was in the middle of investigating a shady character named Echevarria, who had been overhead to say that he was about to "take care of Kennedy". My own desk was near that of the investigating agent. I paid special attention as he dictated his reports and noted that he finished them before November 22. Clearly, the investigation took place prior to the events in Dallas. However, on the afternoon of November 26, four days after the assassination, a special meeting between Secret Service Inspector Thomas Kelly, Special Agent in Charge James Burke—the two lead investigators of the shooting in Dallas—and representatives of the FBI held a meeting in our office. After this meeting, these same reports were restructured and the dates of the investigation were changed to indicate that the Echevarria investigation was conducted AFTER Kennedy's assassination.
In order to better understand the timing of the events surrounding the assassination, I have attempted in subsequent years to bring this cover-up to light. Blaine, however, has accused me of concocting this story. As he puts it, "Bolden's using the JFK assassination to save his own skin." But I was there. Blaine has stated in defense of his whitewash memoir, "I was there." Well, he wasn't there, he was in Austin at the time of the shooting. I was present during all the events I have recorded in my book. A final note: Blaine has repeatedly, in print and in person, referred to me as "the convicted felon" in an attempt to discredit me and my autobiography. I may well be a convicted felon but I sleep well at night knowing I did everything I could to save the life of President Kennedy. Can the agents in Dallas who trotted behind the president's car and saw his head blown to pieces say the same thing? From COPA, 8 November 2010

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM SECRET SERVICE AGENT ABRAHAM BOLDEN

Fellow Citizens:

What in the world is going on with the protection of The President of These United States of America? During President Obama’s administration, we have witnessed colossal security breakdowns by those who are responsible for our president’s safety. And very little is apparently being done about it except praise and expressions of confidence in the leaders within the secret service by officials within the government.

Well…you can form your own opinions and take what I say with a grain of salt if you want to; but I tell you as an ex-secret service agent that the protection surrounding our president MUST be re-evaluated as to responsibility and authority. Congress MUST look into the activities of those charged with the safety of our president and determine whether the secret service agents of Homeland Security are either unwilling or unable to protect our president. I made a similar statement to Chief of the United States Secret Service U.E. Baughman in 1961. I discussed the fact that the then President John F. Kennedy was not receiving the kind of protection that would ward off a successful attempt on his life. For my constant complaining about the lack of adequate protection being given to President Kennedy and my failure to “shut your mouth and tend to your own dam business” I have suffered degradation for the past 49 years of my life.

Even now, I have been told that by continuing to voice my opinion on the subject of the current president’s protection, I may as well forget about receiving any kind of executive action clearing my name of the false conviction perpetrated against me by high officials within the secret service back in 1964.

The fact of the matter is that I don’t give a rat’s a*s about being “forgiven” for a crime that I did not commit. The question is: how in the Sam Hill Hell can our president be so opened to public manipulation as to permit our President of These United States of America to be lifted two feet off of the floor by anyone, anywhere, anytime??? Where were the agents when our president was so unceremoniously embraced???

This is no matter of levity and I ask all who read this message to request their senators and congressman to look into this matter before we hear the muffled drums and the clops of horse’s hooves echoing past a purple bannered White House.

Petition for Abraham Bolden’s Presidential Pardon

Petition for Abraham Bolden’s Presidential Pardon
The following petition has been started at:
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/abrahamwbolden/

Please consider signing it in support of former Secret Service Agent Abraham Bolden who threatened to expose the Chicago plot to kill President Kennedy in 1963.
Abraham Bolden:Imprisoned for Following the Oath
Published February 12, 2011

To the President of These United States of America
The Honorable Barack H. Obama
The undersigned hereby petitions the President of the United States of America to expunge, pardon or take other executive action that will clear the record of conviction of Abraham W. Bolden, Sr. In support of this petition, we submit the following:
Abraham Bolden is an African American and was born to Daniel and Ophelia Bolden in East St. Louis , Illinois on January 19, 1935. He attended Lincoln High School and, upon graduation, entered Lincoln University in Jefferson City , Missouri . Later, Bolden married his long time friend and schoolmate, Barbara L. Hardy (Bolden) to whom he was married for 49 years prior to her death. To that marriage were born 3 children, Ahvia Maria Bolden (Reynolds), Abraham Bolden Jr., and Dr. Daaim Shabazz . Bolden has two grandchildren, Ismail and Cydni Bolden.
Bolden attended public schools in East St. Louis , Illinois and was graduated from Lincoln High School in June, 1952. Because of his proficiency in playing the trumpet, he received a scholarship to Lincoln University in Jefferson City , Missouri and was graduated “cum Laude” in June of 1956 with a BA in Music Composition.
After graduating from Lincoln University , Bolden decided to enter the field of law enforcement. He subsequently became the first African American Detective to be employed by the Pinkerton National Detective Agency. After leaving the detective agency, he served as a State Highway Patrolman in the State of Illinois . Continuing to advance in the field of police work, Bolden became a member of the United States Secret Service in October 1960.
Bolden met President John F. Kennedy in Chicago , Illinois and, after a brief conversation with Bolden, President Kennedy was instrumental in making Bolden the first African American to be assigned to the Secret Service White House Detail in Washington , D.C. in June of 1961.
Bolden traveled with the President; but he became disenchanted with the assignment when some of his fellow agents used racial slurs in his presence and engaged in a pattern of conduct that, in Bolden’s professional opinion, endangered the life of President John F. Kennedy. Bolden was very vocal in his criticism of the protective detail first discussing the matter of the laxity and misconduct of the President’s security with the then Chief of the United States Secret Service U.E. Baughman. Bolden further complained above the unprofessional activities of the detail with his immediate superiors in Chicago , Illinois .
After President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and after having previously discussed his complaints of secret service misconduct with the Chief of the U.S. Secret Service and his immediate superiors in Chicago to no avail, Bolden was intent upon bringing information concerning the President’s lack of proper security to officials of the Warren Commission who were investigating the President’s death. On May 18, 1964, while attending Secret Service School , Bolden was whisked out of Washington , D.C. under a pretext, returned to Chicago whereupon he was denied a request for representation by an attorney and hastily arrested by high administrators within the secret service who charged Bolden with the commission of a federal crime.
Bolden endured two federal criminal trials within a period of less then two months in the Federal District Court in Chicago , Illinois . At the end of the first trial, during the deliberation of the jury, the trial judge stated to the jury that in his opinion, the evidence sustained a verdict of guilty on all counts of the indictment. The trial judge then prompted the jury to continue deliberation taking the judge’s opinion into consideration. That trial ended when the jury, in spite of the judge’s prejudicial remarks, was unable to reach a verdict. (See United States vs. Bolden, 64CR324 and Fed. 2nd 453)
Bolden’s second trial was conducted before the same trial judge who denied a motion for a substitution of judge and a change of venue. At the conclusion of the second trial on August 11, 1964, at the judge’s instigation and acquiescence, Bolden and his attorney, and other non government employed spectators, were locked out of the court building during the deliberation of the jury. During the forced absence of Bolden from the trial procedures, a verdict of guilty was returned.
The case against Bolden began to fall apart when one of the witnesses, Joseph Spagnoli, who testified against Bolden, confessed that he and another witness, Frank William Jones, concocted and fabricated the criminal case against Bolden with the help of an Assistant United States Attorney. In spite of Spagnoli’s confession and documentary evidence tending to support Spagnoli’s accusation, the government refused to deny the charges levied by Spagnoli. When questioned before a three judge panel during oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals concerning Spagnoli’s assertions made under oath in open court, the accused assistant government attorney refused to answer the question of the subornation of perjury and availed himself of his fifth amendment rights against self incrimination. Notwithstanding, Bolden was sent away to the penitentiary.
Bolden was subsequently sent to the prison camp at the Springfield Medical Center for Federal Prisoners. Following a disagreement with one of the psychiatric patients, Bolden was held in solitary confinement, in the psychiatric ward against his will and without the mandatory court order regarding inmate medical treatment. He was forced to ingest psychotropic drugs. The effort to declare Bolden insane was unsuccessful and Bolden was paroled in September of 1969 after serving three years and three months in federal confinement.
After being released from prison, Bolden established himself as a master at quality control administrative procedures in various machining and metal fabricating companies in Chicago . He retired after serving 35 years in quality control supervisory positions.
For his tireless efforts in the pursuit of justice and equity before the law, Bolden has been the recipient of the 2008 Scottish Hugo’s Companion Tankard Award for Courage, the 2008 African American Arts Alliance Award for Excellence, the 2008 Alpha Phi Alpha Award for Courage. He has been cited by the National Urban League as one of America ’s Outstanding Black Men.
He now lives in Chicago , Illinois where he has been a resident for the past 47 years.
The undersigned believes that the above circumstances of injustice and a lack of due process in obtaining a conviction of Bolden cry out for executive action that will remedy the sufferings of Abraham W. Bolden, Sr. He has been a model citizen since his release from federal confinement on September 25, 1969 and it is now time that his human rights as an American citizen be completely restored. Executive action by the President of These United States of America is his last resort. We pray that such action will be forthcoming.
